The Old Man Test
Can you pass it?
Got a test for you. They call it the “old man test”.. But honestly - I bet a lot of young people cant pass it.
It tests your balance. Specifically your single leg balance.
As we age, balance naturally decreases. We must fight to counterbalance this. Lack of balance is the cause of a lot of broken hips & early deaths.
The test is simple.
#1) Stand barefoot on a stable surface
#2) Lift one foot up off the ground.. Pick up a sock & put it on. W/o putting your foot down, grab a shoe & put it on. Tie the laces. Put your foot down & do the other side
#3) Pistol squat for bonus points
If you’re unable to do this - you need more single work in your training. It could literally save your life one day.
